Happy 40th Street Chopper

I was about to start preschool when they published their first magazine. Street Chopper is 40 years young.

From it's humble beginnings, the mag has gone on to become one of the most sought after and respected motorcycle publications out there.

As unlikely as it may seem... SC started life as a promotional tool for A.E.E. Choppers. The company is credited as being the first custom chopper parts manufacturer.

The mag allowed bike builders and enthusiasts to check out the latest creations out there, see what builders had on the block, and was one of the first publications to offer tech tips.

Builders... whether it was their profession, or if they were working out of their garage, could then order the parts from A.E.E. Choppers.

It was a "I'll scratch your back, if you scratch mine" type relationship, but served the machine shop well reaching out to potential, and what would eventually become, long time customers.

Wow, look at that Sporty. It wouldn't look out of place in today's bike shows. The more things change... the more they stay the same.
