Lobo Gets Anthraxed

.
He's one bad ass bounty hunter! And now he's got his own movie and a new two part series authored by a big time heavy metal guitar legend.
.

I'm no comic book freak but like most people, I grew up reading a select few. Lobo (from DC comics) is somewhat new to me but not to Scott Ian of Anthrax fame.
.

.
Check the top right corner of the book cover. That's right, Scott wrote the 2 part series. The book went on sale 11/04/09.
.
.
Here's a review of Scott's work on comicbookresource.com. By the sounds of it, most people are stoked about the new series.
.
.
What got me... the musical references, they're awesome! Check the title of the comic "Highway to Hell".

On this page there's a cool reference to Motörhead & whiskey (dollars to donuts it's Jack Daniel's he's referring to).

And check this out. Lobo's resemblance to Rob Zombie (albeit a lot less muscular RZ) is uncanny. And if you're really interested, here's how the blue beast came to life according to dccomics.com.

.
Lobo is damn cool.. but my all time favourites are Sgt. Rock,

Ghost Rider and The Incredible Hulk.
.
The latter have been made into movies and I hear Sgt. Rock may be in the works as well. As for Lobo, I found a great article at onlygoodmovies.com titled "12 comic book bad asses who deserve their own movie". Lobo made the list at number 10.
.

.
Guy Ritchie (Snatch, Rock n' Rolla & Sherlock Holmes fame) is set to direct the flick. But as for the actor who would be able to pull off such a wild character, this guy (below) obviously made an impression on the folks at Lowbrow artworks.
.

.
Yup, that's Mickey Rourke. Here's a link to 93urban.com & lowbrowartworks.com if you wanna' check out some of their stuff. Pretty cool. I'd say it's Rourke's job if Ritchie sees that pic! But the more pressing question... what's with the Chihuahua!?!?
